Chris Kiez photography blog

Just what the world needs...another blog. I'm a person who has a very keen interest in images and photography. I seem unable to go anywhere without stopping to take a picture of the world around me.

The thing is, we generally have routines and see the same paths, rhythms and scenery every day. When I stop to look at these patterns, sometimes a new angle presents itself. When I alter the view a bit, a new image of the routine appears and that's when I try and snap the shutter. So, when I drive past a river doing errands in my day, its a brief part of the moment.

If I wake up early and see the same river at dawn, with new colors and mist coming off the water, its a whole different view of the same thing I tend to see day after day. That's the area I want to be in when I take the picture.

I'll post pictures and talk about techniques here, and encourage you to read from time to time if photography interests you at all.

As I always say when someone runs through my photos, thanks for looking.

Take care,

Chris

  1. Got a new piece of kit, the Cotton Carrier, made by a fellow named Joe Carrier. I spoke to him on the phone, and he's a very friendly chap with solid design ideas.

The carrier takes all of the weight and bother of a heavy DSLR off your neck or hip, and onto the chest carrier. Admittedly, a bit of a Geek factor where it looks like you're wearing a chest baby carrier, but for those of us who love function over form, its great.

And, a Canadian company too! Support Canadian Made!
